Description: The quieter burglar alarm works in the same way as the quiet fire alarm, in that it will generate a text notification instead of a screeching nanny sound.
Disclaimer: No sims were hurt (much) in the testing of this hack, but one burglar did have his ego slammed when he went to jail.
Did I mention that I hate squealing alarms? Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

This, and the quieter smoke detector, are both AWESOME. Is there any chance you could extend this functionality to the car alarm as well? Once my sims have a car, it is usually the car's alarm, and not the interior burglar alarm, which alerts of their presence, meaning that I still get to endure the screeching nanny sound.

Hi Dadditude! I\'ll definitely extend this to work for car alarms too, just give me a few days and I\'ll get a hack for it made for you. :)
Thanks for the suggestion! :D jfade

Is every sim in the house supposed to wake up when they get robbed? I have had 6 burglaries in the last week. More than I ever had since the game came out. Thats another issue, the frequency seems to be up. It used to be rare until I put this hack in.
I love this hack anyway. I often use heapphones so I'd like to not hear the alarm in the ear.

Hi Dea27,
It doesn\'t stop the Sims from being woken up, this hack is mainly to save the humans playing it from going deaf. :P
It also will not effect the frequency of the burglars. That seems to vary greatly from game to game anyhow though, as many people (myself included) very rarely get burglars, while others have them more frequently. It\'s likely just coincidence. :)
